"We are gathered here today..."

She hated funerals on starships.  A funeral should take place on a planet, with a sky that could be raining and appropriate, or hideously blue.  Or orange, or purple.

But a funeral on a starship...

"...to remember Seven of Nine..."

The room was claustrophobic, the air processed and stale.

"...our colleague ... our friend ..."

Chakotay's eyes were hostile, but she met them regardless.  He'd called her a monster; if that's what he wanted to believe, then a monster she'd be.

She kept the eulogy short, telling herself it was efficient. Seven would have approved.
