The Potions Master's Life

An after-the-fact prequel to the Hunterverse.

(Also subtitled, The Man Won't Leave the Author Alone. Secondary subtitle, This Is All Liz Barr's Fault.)

Author's Note: I am making no promises regarding regular updates on this work; I don't intend to push myself as much as I did on its predecessor, for the simple fact that it proved hazardous to my ability to concentrate on Real-Life matters. When Snape is in the mood to enlighten me he will, and I'm going to try to avoid allowing him to take over my time as inclusively as he and Miranda did in the past year. I will note updates in public posts on my LiveJournal account.

The Potion Master's Life is a companion work to Brave New World, although it can also be considered a "stand-alone" in vignette form, but is obviously inspired by incidents and comments that came out in the writing of BNW. It's a "reverse-engineering" of Snape's character, if you like: a hypothesis of how BNW!Snape became the man Miranda met. Additional note: I reserve the right to include new information we have received as of Order of the Phoenix -- hence, for example, Mrs. Lestrange will become Bellatrix, rather than Iphegenia, as I originally named her.

At the end of each chapter is a link to a Very Pretentious Author's Notes/Footnotes Page with links to relevant BNW chapters, for those who may wonder about some of the odder non-canonical info.
